چکیده
IntrOductIOn Cervical Radiculopathy (CR) is a neurologic condition characterised by dysfunction of a cervical spinal nerve, the roots of the nerve, or both [1]. It is a clinical diagnosis based on a sclerotomal distribution of motor and/or sensory changes or complaints. Any process that causes impingement of exiting cervical nerve roots can lead to a radicular disorder. Impingement may be brought about by acute pathologic changes or by degenerative changes consistent with cervical spondylosis. Retropulsed disk material, zygoapophyseal joint hypertrophy, neurocentral joint hypertrophy, and other softtissue abnormalities all may cause compression of an exiting nerve root. The reported annual incidence rate of CR is 107.3 per 100,000 for men and 63.5 per 100,000 for women, with a peak at 50 to 54 years of age [2]. Cervical spondylosis is considered as the most common cause of cervical radiculopathy (in 70 to 75 percent of cases).

Diagnostic value of Phalen's test and Nerve Conduction Velocity in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Introduction: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a prevalent disorder in women 30 to 60 years old, which is due to compression of median nerve in hand wrist tunnel. As this syndrome is prevalent, diagnostic power of clinical tests are undefined and electrodiagnostic tests are not accessible widely. This study was conducted to determine the diagnostic power of Phalen's test in comparison with NCV. ...
متن کاملCombined nerve conduction index in diabetic polyneuropathy.
UNLABELLED Diabetic polyneuropathy can be confirmed by nerve conduction studies. The data can be analyzed in the form of a combined index instead of individual parameters. METHODS The combined index included five parameters of nerve conduction studies commonly used for evaluation of polyneuropathies. We evaluated sensitivity in 100 diabetic patients with suspected polyneuropathy, and specific...
متن کاملSpinal N13 versus cortical N20 and dermatomal somatosensory evoked potential studies in patients with cervical radiculopathy
Spinal SEP; N13; Cervical Radiculopathy Abstract Introduction: Most studies on somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) in cases of cervical radiculopathy routinely analyze scalp (cortical) responses (mixed or dermatomal SEPs), depending mainly on evaluation of N20 whose origin is the primary somatosensory cortex. It was suggested that selective study of the N13 potential, might be a useful techn...
متن کاملDiagnostic utility of F waves in clinically diagnosed patients of carpal tunnel syndrome.
UNLABELLED Sensory nerve conduction velocity (SNCV) of median nerve measured across the carpal tunnel, difference between distal sensory latencies (DSLs) of median and ulnar nerves and difference between distal motor latencies (DMLs) of median and ulnar nerves are commonly used nerve conduction parameters for diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). These are having high degree of sensitivity...
متن کاملEvaluation of date extract on nerve conduction velocity in male rat
Abstract Introduction: neuropathy is a condition in which the peripheral nervous system is disrupted. The study of the effects of antioxidants on the performance improvement of this system is vital. This study was aimed at the investigation of the effects of date extract on nerve conduction velocity, distal latency, and wave height of the sciatic nerve in male rats. Materials and Methods: thi...
